FMC Speaks Out on “Reasonable” Demurrage and Detention Fees After 2018 Drayage Boom!

In a private meeting on Tuesday September 4th, 2018, Federal Maritime Commissioner Rebecca Dye spoke on the recurrent challenges shippers are facing with detention and demurrage charges.  Dye released a 19 page interim report bringing much needed clarity and transparency on the responsibilities of the FMC, and the possible solutions to the current influx.
